Enough to say, the Wii 2 will be carefully created to outbeat and outshine the various other video gaming consoles out there if it intends to stand strong in the gaming industry. Therefore, we can expect many improvements and upgrades specially designed for a greater, more-holistic experience beyond gaming itself. At least, that is what I'm hoping for. What will Nintendo do this time to ensure the Wii 2 will surpass the many other video gaming consoles in the market?
Full HD Enabled, Greater Graphics
Almost all of the latest video gaming consoles can now support Full HD graphics, which makes it an almost-essential upgrade for the Wii if it was to compete with the other consoles. Not everyone can tolerate normal graphics anymore as almost all of the latest gadgets are HD enabled and most people already have the latest LED TVs in their home. It will surely be a big turn off, a big NO, NO if Nintendo dismisses the idea of HD.
My verdict: a MUST!! Essential for the Wii to continue.
Blu-ray Player
As many other gaming consoles have now evolved and are more than just a gaming platform, having integrated more features like DVD players and internet connection into the device, Nintendo will need to include its own features to remain competitive. Therefore, along with the support of HD, the Wii 2 should be taking an approach like the PS3, combining the blu-ray player into the device to make it a more-in-1 exclusive package.
My verdict: Most likely (:
Better, more improved Motion Sensor
Microsoft has raised the bar last time when it unveiled the Kinect, proving that there are no limits in the technology of motion-sensors, while signaling Nintendo and Sony that Microsoft will not simply back down from the gaming market of motion sensor consoles. Now, if Nintendo wishes to resurrects its Wii to become the most prominent motion sensor in the industry like how it was before, out-beating both its competitors, it SHOULD improve its motion sensor capability and surpass Kinect's. Although it sounds rather impossible, we are confident that Nintendo will be able to introduce another breakthrough device.
My verdict: Better be!
Built-in LED Projector?
Many rumours are saying that the Wii 2 will be integrated with a built-in LED projector. We, on the other hand, do not think so. This is why - the Wii has always been created for gaming using motion sensors; a built-in LED projector, on the other hand will projects image on, let's say, a wall, and it will most likely be used for movies maybe? It just doesn't seem Nintendo-like to change its all-along commitment from gaming to a projector all of a sudden! Plus, if what they mean is gaming with a built-in projector, I just don't understand how are we suppose to do just that; standing in front of the projector will simply make a big shadow and we won't be able to see what's projected!?
My verdict: Big NO NO!
3D Capability?
Okay..I understand that Nintendo just released its 3DS, and yes, 3D gaming without special glasses was amazing. But this, 3D capability for let's say, a 46-inch 3D tv... maybe its a tad too overboard?
My verdict: Most likely no, not yet.
Xbox 720??
On another note, rumours are also saying that the next generation of the Xbox will be releasing during the coming E3 or in the coming year. Xbox 720, that's what its being named, reasoned that erm..2 revolutionary rounds?? Anyways, base on what we are told, the new device will come, following the common 5-year console cycle just like the Wii 2...but maybe, named differently. I don't know, i just think that the name doesn't sound so right, what do you think?
We will be telling you in detail on what is to be expected soon...
Stay tuned and subscribe (:
