Recognise some of these gaming titles? Widely known for their previous installment(s), these franchises will once again storm the gaming world with these upcoming game titles set to be released in 2011!
*Note that the releasing dates mentioned below for each upcoming video games only represent the date they will
first be released in 2011, and does not represent the date of release around the world but usually, Asia will only receive the games after a few weeks.
*All video games mentioned below can be found in Xbox 360 and PS3, but only the games which are specified as PC/Mac can be played on computers.
Mindjack (18/1)

One of the first to be released in 2011, Mindjack will make it's debut on the 18th of January. Published by Square Enix, best known for it's
Final Fantasy video games franchise, Mindjack allows you to hack into other characters' mind, meaning players can leave a body and enter another! With the unique twist in usual 3rd-person-shooter games, Mindjack may turn out rather entertaining as Square Enix changes from its usual console role-playing game genre to a 3rd-person-shooter and cooperative. You never know, but there may be a Mindjack 2! Update: This game sucks so badly, read our
review.
Dead Space 2 (25/1)
Set to be released on the 25th of January, this sequel of a survival, horror 3rd-person-shooter game promises much; mainly it's newly-engaged Multiplayer Mode which I personally thinks will be its greatest improvement after all the engaging, horrifying gameplay in its
predecessor
. Just remember, before playing this, get your lights on and don't be alone :s
Shift 2: Unleashed (8/3) - Mac
Better known as another
Need for Speed game, Shift 2:Unleashed is the 17th title in the racing video games franchise and the direct sequel to
Need for Speed: Shift
. Targeted to be released on the 8th of March, along with other game sequels and new game releases on the same day itself, Shift 2 may find itself difficult to cope as we get bored of it's same old thing...

driving, driving, and driving again...
Dragon Age 2 (8/3) - PC
Taking place in Free Marches (the main region in the game) and set in the same world as
Dragon Age: Origins, the upcoming sequel is releasing on the 8th of March and if it gives as promised - enhanced graphics, better responsive controls..and other more features - Dragon Age 2 may be rather fun to play and has a very high expectation as an Adventure/Role-Playing Game, but will it be able to fulfill them all?
Update: Read our review!
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (8/3) - PC

Also known as Dues Ex 3, the 3rd title in the Dues Ex gaming series and a prequel to the
original game
, this Sci-Fi 1st-Person-Shooter/Role-Playing game is set to make its apperance once again on the 8th of March, 7 years since its
last title
. Also published by Square Enix, Dues Ex: Human Revolution should outbeat its predecessors considering the quantum leap in modern-day's technology and the implementation of it.
Homefront (8/3) - PC

Plotted by John Milius, writer of
Red Dawn
, Homefront is set in the near future 2027, where declining America faces invasion by a united Korea, namely Greater Korean Republic under the rule of the North. Developed by Digital Extremes, creator of games like
Unreal Tournament
and
Bioshock
, Homefront should be a substantial game with memorable moments and we shall wait for its debut arrival on the 8th of March.
Crysis 2 (22/3) - PC

Finally making its presence on the 22nd of March, 3 years after the launch of its widely publicised
predecessor, which was famely known for its CryEngine and its capability to render the characters like REAL humans, Crysis 2 will surely be storming the gaming world once again with its newly-enhanced CryEngine 3, indisputably the fastest high-end renderer in the world. It will definitely be a great hit in the year; but for me, it will be the greatest attraction in 2011 and certainly a wait worthwhile after 3 years! The question is, will Crysis 2 garner a greater response than its predecessor?

F.E.A.R 3 (22/3) - PC

F.E.A.R 3, also known as F.3.A.R, is the 3rd title in its franchise and is a horror First-Person-Shooter game which aims to..F.E.A.R you! Though the developer of the game, Day 1 Studios, promises so with more scares, more features but mainly a Co-operative feature and better cover system, I doubt it will be any better as its
first F.E.A.R

was not anyhow scary for a supposedly horror game.
Portal 2 (19/4) - PC

Also making its appearance after 3 years since its crtically acclaimed predecessor, this upcoming First-Person-Action/Puzzle game is also one of the most-awaited game this year, reaady to be released on the 19th of March. Developed and published by Valve corporation, widely known for its
Counter Strike
franchise, Portal received praise for its unique and original gameplay albeit its rather short campaign and Portal 2 should be on its right track as more portals are going to be launch to raise the stakes for more puzzling gameplay, more teleportations shall be required and deeper in-game physics shall be carefully implemented for the best experience.
Red Faction Armageddon (31/5) - PC

Being the fourth installment in the Red Faction gaming series, this Third-Person-Shooter game is set to be released on the 31st of May. This time, the story will still take place in Mars, but in 2170, 50 years after the events in
Red Faction: Guerrilla
. According to its developer, Volition, it will still retain several elements from its predecessors and thus, be almost the same in terms of gameplay. Nevertheless, its past titles were OK so i guess playing Armageddon wouldn't do any harm, or would it?
*Note that these game titles are due to release in the first half of 2011, thus more games will be released and when the time comes, we shall only highlight those games..enjoy! :D
