This attack, if not the worst, is one of most depressing cyber attack in history. Though Sony has been deliberately trying to restore its network and stopping the hackers (or so they say they are), nothing substantial has succeeded till date. Minor recovery here and there and a major crash again. What's the use of giving us false hopes?
“As we are rebuilding the network, we are taking into consideration implementing features such as cross-game-chat and in-game video chat to name a few. I cannot confirm any new features at this time but expect a massive update when the network is restored,”
a statement by a Sony Representative
Though I have to admit that the thought of it sounds pretty interesting, I doubt the 'massive update' will be possible.Think about it, if Sony fails to even restore its own network and track down the hackers, how can we expect them to introduce new features and integrate new concepts while they're busy hunting down the thieves and configuring their network! It simply doesn't make sense, even if they really are going to improve the system, restore the goddamn network first!

UPDATE: Report of PSN Restoration by May 31 Denied
Stop messing with our minds! Bloomberg, Sony, whatever.. honestly, I'm sick of this whole PSN thing. Though I can't really blame Sony for the lack of any confirmation regarding the restoration, besides that they are deliberately hoping to return functionality of the network in May, it has been quite a while since the attack. PSN users have been waiting and waiting...getting excited at the news that it shall restore before the 31st of May...all to vanish in a split second when Sony said that the 31st May thing was just an overly-optimistic expression. With that in mind, the more I doubt that the "new" PSN thing will be true..at least not at the time when it restores, maybe after a months or so. What do you think? Are you tired just like me? Are you going to switch consoles?
