L.A. Noire might be the best video game in 2011! [Update]

Though L.A. Noire has been highly-speculated lately, it was a surprise when a British paper, The Guardian, lifted the veil of secrecy and reviewed Rockstar Games' latest video game, a crime thriller set in a flawlessly-created Los-Angeles in1947. As suggested, the early review wasn't planned and thus the 5 over 5 review has already been removed. Was it an accident, or simply a method of marketing?

With just a few days to go until the release of L.A. Noire, there have been alot of hype that the game will live up to expectations and according to the 5 over 5 perfect score, it might just be one of the best video games in 2011. Nevertheless, we better not put our hopes too high for fear the review might be a tad too bias considering the fact it was the first review released. After all, it might just be an act of publicity to raise even more speculations.

Following its perfect score, The Guardian noted that one of the boost for its rating is the integrated MotionScan technology which will reportedly immerse players to the game like never before. This technology enables a more realistic animation and action sequence, fully utilizing the much-talked-about technology to greater the gameplay and storyline.

Honestly, I wasn't as excited about this compared to Brink; but after considering that L.A. Noire received such a great rating and the later merely an average score, I might want to get my hands dirty and solve some crimes (: What about you, what do you think? Will it be the best video game in 2011?

UPDATE: Following the recent release of the game, many websites have reviewed the game and most have shared a similar score of 9/10, suggests that the game might really win the 2011 GOTY award and personally, I can't wait to get my copy of the game and venture around the city to unravel all unsolved mysteries. Our review will be out shortly...
